London Haulin'

Dino's Beauty Diary - London Haulin'

There's nothing a girl loves more than some quality shopping time, especially me! And London has to be one of the best places for a day of wandering the stores and having a little splurge - especially the famous Oxford Street, (home to the flagship Lush store, obviously!). So when some quality time was needed with my girl Natalie (of Natalie's Beauty Base) we decided on a girly day out in London, shopping style!

The first place on our radar was actually M & M world in Leicester Square, a compulsory stop for a couple of chocoholics. And as much as I love chocolate, I didn't really think an M & M haul would be that interesting...plus they didn't even last the weekend. Oops. But I do have to admit that it was super fun to create my own personal bag of chocolate. So a heads up to my fellow chocolate lovers out there! If you ever find yourself in Leicester Square, head on down to M & M world. You won't be disappointed!

T2 Tea, Regent Street

Last August, Liam and I headed down to London for a mini-break for our anniversary, and one of the places we were most excited about discovering was T2 - a store filled floor to ceiling with different varieties of tea. Now I have to admit here that before this, I'd never really been a tea lover. Liam's always been the one who drinks tea like it's going out of fashion, whereas I've always been a coffee kind of gal. However after trying out the different types of tea in store, I am a convert and proud (you can check out my post on the T2 London opening here). So when Natalie suggested a little trip to T2, who was I to say no?

'Terrific Toffee' Loose Leaf Flavoured Black Tea - With a table filled with pots of tea, a girls got to start somewhere and a toffee flavoured tea seemed like the perfect place to start. 'Terrific Toffee' smells deliciously creamy and inviting, and after talking to Liam on the phone I figured it would be the perfect treat to cheer him up after a hard day at work.

'Creme Brulee' Loose Leaf Flavoured Black Tea - After talking to one of the friendly assistants in store, I was advised that if I liked the smell and sound of 'Terrific Toffee', then 'Creme Brulee' might be appealing too. I'd entered the store with the intention of only grabbing one box, but once I'd tested 'Creme Brulee' I couldn't resist making an exception. With notes of vanilla and a nutty tone, this tea may have just passed the 'Strawberries and Cream' flavour as my favourite tea yet.

Charlotte Tilbury, Covent Garden

Ah, Charlotte Tilbury. As soon as we'd decided to head to Covent Garden I think it was inevitable that we'd head into the Charlotte Tilbury boutique. Honestly, I think all the gorgeous rose gold packaging was calling to us as we stepped off the tube. Even so, the store is practically outside the tube station so it'd be pretty hard to miss.

The store was gorgeous, and we honestly didn't know where to start. As big lipstick fans, we both naturally gravitated towards them at first - I'm a huge fan of the 'Matte Revolution' range, but somehow I managed to restrain myself when I caught sight of the 'Magic Foundation'. At £29 a bottle, I was actually surprised that it wasn't more expensive but hey ho, I'm not going to complain.

I was actually sent a couple of samples of this a while back, and I was thoroughly impressed with the results. It's not drying like some liquid foundations I've used in the past, and actually  goes on easier due to the pump top. The coverage is brilliant with 'Magic Foundation' too, and helps to cover up any imperfections without looking too thick and unnatural.

LUSH, Oxford Street

It wouldn't be a girls day out shopping without a trip to the LUSH store on Oxford Street now would it? It seems to be something of a tradition that whenever we head down to London, LUSH needs to be visited. Heck, I wouldn't be surprised if somewhere in the back of my mind, that was our number one deciding factor when organising a get together.

Anyway, it was inevitable that we would eventually visit the store, so we decided to save the best for last - it would have been a nightmare carrying round a big bag full of LUSH items all day, right?

LUSH 'Hair Custard' Hair Dressing - I've been eyeing up this hair dressing ever since it was released and I received a small sample. It smells absolutely divine and I can't praise its scent enough - it's a lovely sweet mix of ingredients, with a strong air of vanilla to it (instant win in my eyes). I can't wait to give my hair a bit of a pamper with this - I've never really used a hair mask before!

LUSH 'Lord Of Misrule' Shower Cream - This is actually a repurchase as my current bottle is getting a bit low, but I can totally justify it because of how yummy it smells. Spoiler alert - it smells exactly like the 'Lord Of Misrule' Bath Bomb that's only available around Halloween. I picked this up because I'm not sure if it's available in other stores across the country - I'm sure I've never spied it in my local store.

LUSH 'Spring Bunny' Bath Bomb - This cute little guy was an instant hit with me and Natalie, I mean, just look how adorable he is! With a strong citrus scent, this bath bomb is instantly refreshing and reminds me of lemon sherbet. I'm not normally a big fan of citrus scents, but I'm willing to make an exception for this little fella.

LUSH 'Flutterby' Bubble Bar - The first thing that drew me to this bubble bar was its nice, vibrant pink appearance, and then secondly, how huge it is. I can genuinely see this bubble bar lasting for a good three to four baths (maybe five if I could stretch it). With a delicious and sweet fruity scent, 'Flutterby' is definitely a bubble bar right up my street.

LUSH 'Bunch Of Carrots' Bubble Bar - I actually went into the Oxford Street store with the intention of adding this to my basket straight away; I'd seen it being used on Instagram and thought it was too adorable to pass up! Slightly different to last year, the carrots come in three different colours instead of the standard orange, making it a delightful mix of colours in the bath once used. 'Bunch Of Carrots' has a delightful fizzy kind of scent, with a slight hint of lemon.

LUSH 'Down The Rabbit Hole' Bubble Bar - Once we'd headed upstairs to the bath and bubble bar section, this fantastic bubble bar was one of the first things that caught my eye. A stunning mix of bright colours, 'Down The Rabbit Hole' is also a pretty decent sized bar, and I'd say you could get around four uses out at a push. It has a yummy fruity aroma, with hints of raspberry and orange to name just a few. If you're after a bar that looks gorgeous without too strong of a scent, then this bar may be for you - it's not too overpowering and in your face like some others. However if you're not local to London it may be a bit of a trek - this baby is an Oxford Street exclusive.

LUSH 'Little Dragon' Bubble Bar - Like some of the past Christmas reusable bubble bars, 'Little Dragon' is slightly different to the standard bubble bars in that it comes on a stick to be swirled around the bath. I love these ones as sometimes I can find it so messy crumbling a bubble bar in my hands. I'd actually been eyeing this exclusive bubble bar up for a while, ever since I saw it on my first visit to Oxford Street. Bright red in colour with a golden glitter finish, 'Little Dragon' is again different to any other bubble bars I've used in that it has a herb-y smell to it, something I don't think I've really experienced before.

Dino's Beauty Diary - London Haulin'

Well, I think that's a pretty impressive haul from London - even if my bank account hates me for it! There's really nothing better at a difficult time than a good meet up with a close friend, especially when you factor in some shopping! What do you think of the items I picked up - do you have any of them yourself? Or do you have some other products by T2, Charlotte Tilbury or Lush to recommend me? Let me know in the comments below!
